Latest News, Etc.

Just a few follow-ups on previous posts:

This blog is available again for subscription from Amazon for your Kindle, after I finished dealing with the hacker damage, and my hosting company declared my site to be clean of any malware.

The Gollanzc SF Gateway is now up and running, with lots of SF&F e-books available from their extensive catalog, including many from the so-called “golden age” of the genres (or “the pulps” from the less kindly disposed to them). It looks like there is already a great selection of stuff there: more than I’ll ever have time for, it seems.

I finally got around to ordering Snuff for my Kindle today. There were initial reports of a lot of formatting errors in the Kindle version, and I’m not sure if they have been fixed yet. Hopefully I’ll know more this weekend, when I actually have time to read it (and then post a review here).

  1. So I’ve come up for air again from the work thing. I read the sample of Wyrd Sisters (good so far, although a bit pompous at times and kind of has this different cadence here and there.) Anyway, since I’m thinking of reading it, could you do a post on this whole discworld thing? Is it a game? Just a set of books? I hear the term all the time and probably knew what it was long ago in my misspent youth, but can’t remember what it is. Who started it? I know there’s different authors, how did they get corralled into it? Or is there only one?
