Just a quick note to anyone who has been thinking about buying a Kindle: the Kindle 3G + WiFi with “Special Offers” has had its price cut to $139.00. It was originally offered at $164, $25 off the price without the special offers feature and advertisement screen-savers. This means you can now get a Kindle with free 3G connectivity (at least free within the US) at the same price as my WiFi-only unit (which does not have the special offers promotional features). I’m jealous.
Of course, one cannot help but wonder if this is a precursor to a new product announcement, or if it’s just a response to market pressures, or if the special offers features are really generating purchases for Amazon, or what?
