I just noticed that Jean Auel’s The Clan of the Cave Bear is currently available on Amazon for $1.59, apparently to promote the upcoming release of here newest book, The Land of Painted Caves (available for pre-order at $14.98 at the time of this writing). So, while $14.98 is more than I’d be willing to spend on that for my Kindle, if you average it out with the bargain price on the first book, maybe you can rationalize getting both at an effective $8.00 and change for each?

I read Clan when it first came out in paperback and enjoyed it, though I think I was less impressed with the sequel, and never read any of the other books. But I know there are a lot of fans out there, and if you are one, this seems like a great time to re-read it if you do not yet have it on your Kindle.
